Money is only one of a myriad of motivators. Having bootstrapped my business and not being able to offer much more than minimum wage for a number of years, I had to find employees who bought into the vision of my business and desired to be a part of a new and exciting concept more than they wanted a high wage. I’ve increase wages as I could afford to but, again, my employees are more interested in being a part of a business that is blazing a new trail in our industry. We also work as a team and I value each and every one of them and let them know it regularly.
