Are you as sick about hearing people argue whether AI will replace humans as I am?
And yet, to be fair, every time you turn around, it seems AI is doing some new human thing. Heck, I just found out it’s even reading tarot cards.
But then I heard this from Paul Jarvis, cofounder of Clarent, the data analytics company recently (and wisely) acquired by Procare HR (a Foresight partner):
“AI needs humans and always will.”
Kind of heartening coming from a data guy.
Paul sat down with Steve Moran to talk “data power” in a recent Workforce Wednesday episode. Procare HR’s acquisition of Clarent makes a lot of sense. Procare HR has the experts on the people side, and Clarent has the experts in AI data analytics. When you put AI-powered data together with people power, you can do some lights-out amazing things.
A few takeaways (but I urge you to watch the full video):
- AI replaces stuff humans hate doing. Just as an example: pouring through payroll data, time and attendance data, census data, other sources of data; putting it together; tinkering with it; and wondering if your schedule is right or wrong.
- The barrier to using AI has never been lower. It’s easier than ever to dump a ton of data into an app and get something you can at least work with.
- This is where humans come in. In the case of Procare HR, it’s Emily. She’s their scheduling expert. And she’s steeped in senior living. So, for example, if you’re using their scheduling app, Emily will review your final schedule for you and make any recommendations needed.
So what can you do when you combine multiple data sources, AI, and humans?
- Create schedules that consider all data points automatically so that the schedules support residents, staff, and your financial position.
- Generate reports that “come to a conclusion” based on assessments of a resident, using EHR and observational input data. A report can be presented to a family to support why they may have to pay for a higher care level of care.
- Filter out unqualified job candidates so that your HR team can focus on the best candidates.
- Hang on to your best people. When your people are engaging with residents and families, they are making their lives better. That’s another human element AI can help support.
Those are just some of the things that happen when you put AI together with all your data sources and add humans.
